What is HeartMath®?

HeartMath® technology is an innovative approach to improving emotional wellbeing. Learn to change your heart rhythm pattern to create physiological coherence - a scientifically measurable state characterized by increased order and harmony in our mind, emotions, and body.

How does it work?

The HeartMath® tools analyze our heart rhythm, measured by Heart Rate Variability (HRV), which indicates how emotional states are affecting our nervous system. HRV offers a unique window into the quality of communication between the heart and brain, which directly impacts how we feel and perform.

They use scientifically validated HeartMath® techniques to guide us to a state of higher Coherence.

When we are stressed, the body is out of sync. Depleting emotions like anger, frustration, anxiety and, worry, lead to disorder in the nervous system.
Renewing emotions like appreciation, care and, kindness create order, which is called coherence. Coherence
leads to mental clarity, creativity, and resiliency.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

HRV = the time between heartbeats

 

High HRV indicates the body is in a balanced state.

Low HRV indicates the body is under stress.

 

The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for the “rest and digest” response and causes a decrease in heart rate.

The sympathetic nervous system initiates the fight-or-flight response and causes an increase in your heart rate.

A weak electrical current is applied to each of your 10 fingertips for less than a millisecond. The response to this stimulus is an electronic emission which stimulates a gas discharge (glow) that is captured by the camera and then translated into a digital computer file.
