My Story
I started my career as a spa therapist. During my 3 year training, I got to work directly with clients and was introduced to chemical-free products, essential oils, Ayurveda, singing bowls, and water therapies. It laid my foundation for natural healing methods and grew my interest and awareness in making healthy lifestyle choices.
Working in small boutique hotels allowed me to be more involved in the management side of things. Together with my husband, we managed several resorts and lodges in various countries, which didn’t keep me from practicing what I have learned and continue to learn.
Growing interest and awareness in making healthy lifestyle choices
Over the years my husband had lots of issues with his stomach. He had cameras down his throat multiple times and daily doses of Nexium (anti-acid tablets). In August 2010, when we were working for a gorgeous resort in Zanzibar, he all of a sudden stood up from the table in the middle of lunch, “Come, let’s go”, he said. I had no clue what was going on. We left the restaurant, in silence, we walked on for a bit until he flopped down on the ground. “I think I have a heart attack,” he said. Everything in me dropped. The closest ‘hospital’ (keep in mind we are in rural Africa) would be an hour and a half away. One of the staff helped me get him to our cottage. Besides feeling completely helpless and freaked out, he seemed stable. A local doctor came sometime later and told us that he was totally fine. And he was. Except for the fact that he (and me) was quite shaken and didn’t know what had just happened.
In the coming year and a half, we had less dramatic, but similar situations, which always ended up in a clinic and with stacks of EKG reports and ultrasound scans. Until one day. By now, we were in the middle of rural India. On a 6-hour train ride to Delhi, he suddenly looks up from his GQ magazine, his eyes shining. “I know what is wrong with me!”. It was an article about panic attacks and described exactly what he had experienced so many times. Back then anxiety and panic attacks weren’t everyday jargon. What an eye-opener. And now what? Well, we kept going, life went on, we learned more about it and tried handling it better.
In 2014 I walked out of a doctor’s office, being not just angry but even more frustrated. Paul’s stomach issues had gotten worse again. The doc explained as if talking to a small child that “It is very simple if the current dose of your medication is not working, we need to go higher.” I was convinced that this doctor was wrong. I searched for someone who would look at the root cause of the problem and found Dr. Ludmila from Holistic Healing, Dubai.
She took him immediately off the medication because he lacked stomach acid and not the other way around. Within a few weeks, he was fine, lost weight, felt more energized, slept better, and so forth. What did she do? She explained what is happening (or not happening) in his body and what to do about it by eating the right food. Besides that, he went through a Liver cleanse, colon hydrotherapy, acupuncture, yoga, and homeopathic medicine. The natural approach got his body back into balance and not just that, but health.
Years later, he still deals with worry from time to time, but we have not been back to any doctor for it. Why? Because he has learned to be aware of when and how it happens and what to do about it. The same goes for his stomach. He can’t drink beer or eat bread, but sometimes he does because he just really feels like it. But he also knows that there might be consequences, and he might not feel so well during the night. Again, he is aware and balances it through a holistic lifestyle we adapted to.
Back to me! Dr. Ludmila is proof that a world of health and natural healing existed and that it made absolute sense, and it worked. She also uses devices that are fascinating to me. Non-invasive tools that make things visible, energy in the body to be more specific. I am one of those people who like the “seeing is believing” statement. I started digging deeper into the field of Biofeedback and Bioresonance, became a Bio-Well practitioner as well as a HeartMath® practitioner. Besides that, I exchanged Netflix for Gaia where I find inspiration and knowledge towards a healthy life, ancient wisdom, and modern application.
I see a great need to make others aware of what is possible with simple, natural things. Give your body the right things to eat, minimize your exposure to unhealthy external factors, feed your mind with positivity and your body will start to realign and function just fine!
Using high-tech tools that are backed by science makes it more fun and exciting.
Energy medicine is one of the most studied fields of medicine today. It has been used for thousands of years in various countries (TCM in China, Ayurveda in India for example), but has been largely ignored by western society. This is finally changing now.
